Nagarjuna, Amala Akkineni and Rajkumar Hirani recently attended the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. On May 2, the trio joined the star-studded event. The South superstar was clicked with filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, sparking rumours about their possible collaboration. Nagarjuna’s wife, Amala Akkineni, was also all smiles as she met the Dunki director.
On Friday, Amala and Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios took to their Instagram handle to share memorable glimpses from the event. Sharing some heartfelt photos of the stars, the production house wrote, “Star-studded moment at Waves Summit 2025! Our beloved Nagaejuna Garu & Amala Akkineni Garu sharing a special moment with the legendary Shri Rajkumar Hirani Garu at the summit — a true celebration of cinema, creativity, and innovation! Proud to see such icons come together at a platform shaping the future of movies & gaming!”
Amala also shared some sneak peeks from the event, writing, “Inspired and thrilled to have attended the WAVES Summit in Mumbai. Congratulations to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry for bringing our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision to life. The roar of India’s creative expression was so present!”
She further added, “Sharing a few pictures captured between panel sessions and events. There were valuable discussions on advancement in policy, new opportunities thanks to new technology disruptions and new audience-driven markets.”
Nagarjuna revealed that for the Telugu audience, films such as Pushpa 2 aren’t any special, but the north Indian audience craves to see such larger-than-life heroes on screen. Speaking about the same at Waves Summit 2025, he claimed, “Pushpa made more money in other languages rather than Telugu, in the northern languages especially. I think we have seen a similar kind of story in Telugu before, like Pushpa, and it was nothing new for us, larger than life, Pushpa Raj the character, we had seen that before.”
“They want to see their heroes like that. They want to see larger-than-life heroes. They want to see magic happening on screen,” he added, revealing that people enjoy watching something which creates a different world for them.
