At the WAVES 2025 summit in Mumbai, a key session titled Digital Dreams & Cinematic Visions: Madhya Pradesh as the Next Creative Hub highlighted the state’s growing role in India’s film and digital content sectors. The event served as a platform for major policy announcements, reinforcing Madhya Pradesh’s ambition to become a leading destination for creative industries and film production.
Renowned producer Ekta Kapoor officially launched the Madhya Pradesh Film Tourism Policy 2025 during the session. Addressing the audience, Kapoor talked about the practical needs of filmmakers—rebates, streamlined permissions, scenic diversity, and efficient logistics—while praising Madhya Pradesh for delivering on all fronts. “It’s smooth to shoot in MP,” she noted.
Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism Department, echoed this sentiment. Describing Madhya Pradesh as not only the “heart of Incredible India” but also the emerging “heart of Indian cinema,” Shukla outlined the policy’s highlights, including a simplified single-portal clearance system and enhanced incentives. He stressed the state’s commitment to supporting regional cinema by rewarding productions that employ local talent, promote indigenous languages, or return for multiple shoots.
Shobha Sant, CEO of Creativeland Studios, shared, “Whoever comes to Madhya Pradesh once, wants to come again,” while also mentioning international films like Lion and A Suitable Boy that were shot in MP too.
Talking about the event, MP Tourism posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Mr. Aamir Khan, the celebrated and multi-talented actor, greeted the Madhya Pradesh Tourism team at WAVES 2025. He engaged in a meaningful dialogue on the Madhya Pradesh Film Tourism Policy 2025 and AVGC-XR Policy 2025, discussing the state’s vast potential and emerging opportunities in film tourism. Famous personalities from the film industry, including Ms. Ekta Kapoor, renowned Indian film producer and television director, Amit Siyal and actor Sharad Kelkar, also graced the event with their presence.”
