Residents of Delhi, Noida and adjoining areas found relief from rising temperatures as strong winds and overcast skies brought a much-needed break from the heat on Thursday.
Visuals released by CNN-News18 showed the Noida skyline engulfed in dust. Another video released by news agency IANS showed a dust storm hitting Ghaziabad.
On Wednesday, maximum temperatures across Delhi and much of Uttar Pradesh hovered between 38°C and 42°C, with parts of West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan witnessing even more severe heat in the 42–44°C range, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
Netizens from New Delhi and adjoining areas shared photos and videos of rain on social media site X.

The rains and strong winds come after Delhi recorded both heatwave and warm night conditions on Wednesday.
A report by news agency Times of India said that Wednesday (April 9) was the hottest April night in three years at 25.6°C. The IMD had issued a ‘yellow’ alert for very light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.
The weatherman predicted that rains are also expected on April 11.
