Fans also love how respectfully they treat each other during public outings and interviews. Recently, Upasana reflected on her marriage with her superstar husband and what keeps their spark alive.
Speaking at The Masoom Minawala Show, Upasana prominently mentioned that marriage needs continuous work. “Marriage requires continuous effort—it’s like breathing. You can’t give up. You have to work on it every single day,” she said.
Further adding, “One thing I’ve realised throughout this journey is that in business, we regularly review our goals. I’ve said this before, but why don’t we do the same in our relationships? Just like we have quarterly board meetings for business, I believe it’s important to have personal check-ins with yourself.”
Upasana also mentioned, “Our secret sauce is being there for each other, through both the highs and the lows. Spending quality time together, despite our busy schedules, is essential. My mom always emphasised the importance of a weekly date night. At the time, I didn’t fully understand it, but now I see how crucial it is. We try to make it happen as much as possible, and it’s our time—just the two of us, without distractions like the TV.”
She said that they ensure checking in with each other regularly, which helps them stay connected. It was something they committed to, and were working on making it a more consistent part of their lives. “If issues arise, we address them head-on,” she said, acknowledging that communication is an ongoing journey, and they’ll continue to nurture it throughout their lives.

Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela were schoolmates. However, they lost in touch, only to reconnect after a decade. Soon after, they became good friends and dated for a brief while before getting engaged in December 2011. The couple got married in a dreamy wedding ceremony in Hyderabad in June 2012. They welcomed their first child, baby girl Klin Kaara in June 2023.
