Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and called him a “namuna”, alleging that he deliberately keeps the Ayodhya controversy alive.
In an interview with news agency ANI, Adityanath criticised Rahul Gandhi’s nation-wide march and called it a “Bharat Todo Abhiyan”. He further alleged that the Congress leader was working against India’s interests and raised questions on the work done by the Congress party in the last ten decades.
Questioning Congress’ governance over the past few years, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said, “Ek Bharat ko Shresht Bharat nahi hona chahiye? You should ask them (Congress), then, what were they doing for six to ten decades? He should have asked his grandfather, grandmother and father. Why didn’t they do it at that time?”
Further highlighting that today the entire India is getting support from PM Modi, Adityanth pointed towards initiatives such as the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, abolition of triple talaq, and promotion of the Kumbh Mela.
“They always wanted to let the Ayodhya controversy remain a controversy. In Kashi’s Sankri Gali, they have been doing politics all their life in the name of Gandhi ji. But in 1916, Gandhi made strong remarks on Kashi’s Sankri Gali. Why did they not fulfil the dream of Mahatma Gandhi? His dream was fulfilled by PM Modi,” Aditynath said.
“Why did the Congress not abolish the three-talaq? Why did the Congress not promote the Kumbh with so much pride and divinity? Why did Congress fail to provide the world-class model of infrastructure in the country? And in Ayodhya, the construction of the
Ram Mandir has also been done. Everyone is getting a glimpse of a new Ayodhya,” CM
Adityanath added.
Yohi Adityanth’s ‘Namuna’ Jibe At Rahul Gandhi
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister further dubbed Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ as ‘Bharat Todo Abhiyan’ and said that everyone was aware of his intentions.
“The Bharat Jodo Yatra is part of Bharat Todo Abhiyan. He criticises India outside India. The country has understood his nature and intentions. In India’s politics, Bharatiya Janata Party ke liye Rahul jaise kuch namune rehne chahiye jisse ek rasta hamesha ke liye saaf hota rahe aur acha rahe,” he added.
UP CM Attacks Opposition
Intensifying his attack on the Opposition, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister alleged that Congress and its allies in the INDIA bloc used billionaire George Soros’s money to influence the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Sharpening his attacks, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister even called this alleged involvement an act by a “traitor.” “They did propaganda and they had not only spread propaganda, but
foreign money was also involved in it. George Soros had long ago announced it. I am saying that foreign money was involved in the Lok Sabha elections throughout the country in which Congress and other parties of the INDIA bloc were directly or indirectly involved, and
through that, they tried to influence the elections. This falls in the category of deshdroh (treason),” he added.
Adityanath Slams Shivakumar Over Minority Reservation
Adityanath further upped the ante against the Congress-led Karnataka government and criticised the party over the four per cent minority reservation quota bill, stating that the reservation on the basis of religion by the Karnataka government is an insult to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s Constitution.
“DK Shivakumar is saying exactly what he has inherited from Congress’s legacy,” he said.
UP CM On Language Row
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also raised concerns over the opposition to Hindi, especially by Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin. “Hindi se nafrat kyu? Bhasha todti nahi hai, jodne ka kaam karti hai (Why hate Hindi? Language brings people closer, does not create a divide),” he said.
“The country should not be divided in the name of the language or region. We are grateful to PM Modi, who organised the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam in Varanasi. In every Indian’s mind, there is a feeling of respect for Tamil, and its history is as old as Sanskrit. When these people’s vote banks shift, they try to divide on the basis of territory and language. The people of the country should always be aware of this,” he added.
