Arjun Kapoor’s Sister Anshula Refuses To Participate On Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss: ‘Not A Game Show’

Last Updated:

Anshula Kapoor says she’s not ready for Bigg Boss after The Traitors, calling it too long and not her kind of game show.

Anshula Kapoor calls Arjun Kapoor “misunderstood” and a “gladiator” in an emotional Siblings Day video celebrating their bond.

After impressing audiences with her stint on The Traitors, Arjun Kapoor’s sister Anshula Kapoor has made it clear that she has no plans to participate in Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss. In a recent interview with Zoom, Anshula explained why the popular TV format doesn’t appeal to her and why she isn’t ready to take it up anytime soon.

Anshula said, “Traitors is not Bigg Boss. At least if you look at the original concept of what Traitors is supposed to be, it’s not Bigg Boss. It’s a psychological show. More importantly, the time frame in which the shows are shot is very different. Traitors is a two-week game, and Bigg Boss is much longer and larger.”

She added that the nature of Bigg Boss doesn’t resonate with her, especially at this point in her life. “I don’t watch Bigg Boss, so I don’t really know what the current Bigg Boss looks like. But I know I am not cut out for it just yet, right now. I don’t think I will be able to enjoy myself in that environment. I do not believe Bigg Boss is a game show,” she said.

Anshula recently made her reality show debut on The Traitors, which is currently streaming on Prime Video India. Hosted by Karan Johar and produced in collaboration with BBC Studios India and All3Media International, the show is based on the international format and combines strategy, betrayal, and suspense. The first nine episodes are available now, with new twists and episodes dropping every Thursday at 8 PM.

The star-studded cast of The Traitors also features Maheep Kapoor, Karan Kundrra, Raj Kundra, Jasmine Bhasin, Elnaaz Nourouzi, Ashish Vidyarthi, Harsh Gujral, Jannat Zubair, Sudhanshu Pandey, Lakshmi Manchu, Mukesh Chhabra, and rapper Raftaar, among others.

While Bigg Boss continues to be a major draw for Indian reality TV audiences, Anshula Kapoor’s stance is clear that she prefers shorter, more strategic formats and isn’t currently inclined toward high-drama, long-haul shows.
