Shefali Jariwala reportedly took a vitamin C IV drip on the day of her death. Police are probing her long-term anti-ageing treatments.
Shefali Jariwala passed away at the age of 42.
The sudden death of actor-model Shefali Jariwala on June 27 has sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry. Best known as the iconic “Kaanta Laga” girl, the 42-year-old reportedly passed away due to a cardiac arrest. New developments have now emerged, suggesting that Shefali Jariwala may have taken an IV drip just hours before her death, as part of an ongoing anti-ageing treatment she had been following for years.
In a recent interview with journalist Vickey Lalwani, Shefali’s close friend Pooja Ghai revealed that Shefali had taken a vitamin C IV drip on the day of her death. “On that day, she did take the drip, the vitamin C. But like I said, it’s a very normal thing to take a vitamin C. I mean, we all take vitamin C, right? I think post-COVID people have just started taking vitamin C as regularly as possible. And vitamin C is something I take as well. So it’s a very normal thing,” she said.
Further elaborating on the police inquiry at the scene, Pooja added, “While I was standing there, the police guys called for the guy who gave her the IV drip to just check what was the medicine that she was taking, and that’s when it was unfolded that she had taken an IV drip.”
She also defended the practice, explaining that IV drips and anti-ageing infusions were common, especially in the entertainment industry. “It’s so common. In fact, if you walk down the streets here in Dubai, you see multiple vitamin C drips at regular clinics and salons. She was in a profession where she had to be her best, and she was her best. She looked the best,” Pooja said.
According to NDTV, preliminary police investigations indicate that Shefali had been consuming anti-ageing medicines, including glutathione and vitamin infusions, for the last seven to eight years. A source close to the investigation revealed, “There was a puja at home on June 27, during which Shefali was fasting. Despite this, she took an injection of anti-ageing medicine in the afternoon of the same day. These medicines were advised to her by a doctor years ago, and she had been undergoing the treatment monthly.”
The incident reportedly occurred between 10 and 11 PM, when Shefali suddenly collapsed at home. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, rushed her to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital in Mumbai, where she was declared dead on arrival.
While the exact cause of death is yet to be officially confirmed, the initial medical reports suggest that self-medication and unsupervised anti-ageing treatments may have contributed to the cardiac arrest. Police are currently investigating the ingredients and dosage of the IV drip and medication consumed.
