Censor Board Clears Nithiin’s Thammudu With ‘A’ Certificate Ahead of Release.
The stage is set for the release of Thammudu, an emotional action-packed drama directed by Sriram Venu and starring Nithiin in the lead. The film has now received its clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an ‘A’ certificate, paving the way for its theatrical release on July 4, 2025.
Confirming the news, the production house Sri Venkateswara Creations shared on X, “Action, Adventure and Adrenaline-pumping moments. The epic journey of #Thammudu takes a new turn with ‘A’ from Censor. The purpose and promise justifies everything!! #ThammuduOnJuly4th.” Actor Nithiin also echoed the sentiment in his own post, writing, “The epic journey of #Thammudu takes a new turn with ‘A’ from the Censor.”
The buzz around the film has been steadily building, thanks to its gripping teaser and a storyline that blends raw action with emotional depth. Set in a mysterious place called Ambaragodugu where there’s only one way in and out—the film appears to be about a brother’s promise to his sister. Nithiin, seen as a skilled archer, is drawn into a battle to protect his sister and her child, who are trapped in this grim, isolated region. The teaser hints at both emotional stakes and intense conflict, ending with a powerful line from Nithiin: “You are considered dead even if you’re alive if you can’t keep your word. You are considered alive even if you’re dead when you keep your promise.”
Adding to the excitement is the return of actress Laya to the big screen, playing the role of Jhansi Kiranmayee. She recently completed dubbing for her portions, further fuelling anticipation.
The film also stars Sapthami Gowda, Saurabh Sachdeva, Swasika, Hari Teja, Srikanth Iyyengar, Temper Vamshi, Chammak Chandra, and Varsha Bollamma. Thammudu is produced by Raju and Shirish, with music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. The visuals are handled by cinematographers K.V. Guhan, Sameer Reddy, and Setu, while editing is by Sh Prawin Pudi. G.M. Sekhar handles the art direction, and the action is choreographed by Vikram Mor, Real Satish, Ravi Verma, and Ram Krishan.
