Neeru Bajwa DELETES All Sardaar Ji 3 Posts From Instagram Amid Diljit Dosanjh Controversy?

Last Updated:

Neeru Bajwa has reportedly deleted all Sardaar Ji 3 posts from Instagram a day before its international release, amid backlash over Pakistani actor Hania Aamir’s casting.

Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa starrer Sardaar Ji 3 is set for an overseas release on June 27

The casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa starrer Sardaar Ji 3 ignited massive backlash, following the Pahalgam terror attack. Diljit is being called out for continuing to promote the film while remaining silent on the backlash. Now, Reddit users noticed that Neeru has removed every post related to the film amid the ongoing controversy, just one day before the film’s overseas release.

A Reddit user shared a post by Instagram page ‘Lollywoodspace’, which claims that Neeru Bajwa has deleted all posts related to Sardaar Ji 3, one day before the film’s overseas release. The post also claims that she has unfollowed Pakistani actress Hania Aamir on Instagram. Neeru’s latest Instagram post features the teaser of her upcoming film ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’, however, her recent posts have no mention of Sardaar Ji 3. Reacting to this, one Reddit user commented, “I remember Neeru Bajwa being one of the few Punjabi actors who applauded operation sindoor and Sofiya Qureshi,” while another one wrote, “This is Brave on Neeru’s part! Respect to her!”

A third Reddit user commented, “Just saw comment under Neeru’s Insta posts. Girl is getting so much hate from the pakis and diljit fans!” while another comment read, “At least someone showing someone has some spine.”

Directed by Amar Hundal, Sardaar Ji 3 is a horror-comedy that revolves around ghost hunters (played by Diljit and Hania) tackling supernatural events in a haunted UK mansion. Neeru Bajwa also stars in a pivotal role. The film is not releasing in India, but is set for an overseas release on June 27.

Diljit’s continued association with Sardaar Ji 3 and his support for its overseas release even in Pakistan has upset many. What’s added more fuel to the fire is that the film doesn’t just feature Hania Aamir but several other Pakistani actors, including Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela, are also part of the ensemble.

In his first comment on the controversy, Diljit told BBC Asian Network, “Jab yeh film bani thi, tab sab theek tha… Producers ka paisa laga hua hai… Film bann chuki thi before tensions started.” He added that he supports the producers’ decision to release it overseas, acknowledging the financial risks they face.
