Ram Kapoor said that celebrities like Karan Johar and himself choose not to respond to Ozempic claims because they know the critics are ignorant and uninformed.
Ram Kapoor questioned why using Ozempic or any medical aid for weight loss is seen negatively
Actor Ram Kapoor hit the headlines a few months ago for his incredible physical transformation and weight loss. Soon after, a section of netizens claimed that he used Ozempic to lose weight. Earlier, Ram claimed that he lost weight the old-fashioned way, by changing his lifestyle, without any surgery or extremal aids. Now, in his recent interview, Ram Kapoor slammed the criticism surrounding his weight loss, and claims of using Ozempic. He expressed his frustration over the scepticism, suggesting it may stem from jealousy or ignorance. He has now questioned critics why using Ozempic or any medical aid for weight loss is seen negatively. He dismissed claims that using it is a ‘shortcut’, stating that if a doctor prescribes it, there is no shame in using it.
While speaking with Humans Of Bombay, Ram Kapoor was asked why people find it hard to believe that weight loss happened through hard work and instead accuse him of using Ozempic. In response, the actor said, “I don’t know. Maybe it’s jealousy. I can never understand this. But I want to ask this, ki koi agar Ozempic kare, ya kuch bhi kare, toh usmein negative kya hai? Ye abhi tak mujhe jawaab mila nahi hai. I wish somebody gives me an answer. (But I want to ask—if someone uses Ozempic or anything else, what’s negative about it? I’ve never received an answer to that).”
He further added, “People who say someone used Ozempic probably don’t even know how it’s administered. It’s not a pill you just buy. It’s an injection you take once a week. What does that mean? You can’t get it without a doctor. If your doctor is prescribing it, will you listen to them or to social media? Point number two—people say it’s a shortcut, not natural. All those people are blind. You get one life. If a doctor tells you to take a shortcut to live healthier, do it! Why wouldn’t you? It’s madness! People say ‘Ozempic liya’—so what? Jaake khhareed nahi sakta hu main. Doctor injection deta hai bhai! (I can’t even buy it on my own. A doctor gives the injection).”
“Lastly—and this is the most ridiculous—people say, ‘Don’t take shortcuts, do it naturally.’ Everyone in this room has taken a shortcut. If you get sick and go to a doctor for medicine, that’s a shortcut. The body could fight it off in weeks, but you take antibiotics. Isn’t that a shortcut? Then how is Ozempic any different?” he questioned.
He further added, “Karan Johar, me, all of us dealing with this Ozempic nonsense—you know why we don’t react? Because we know all these people saying it are mad. They are retarded. They know nothing about it.”
