Fatima Sana Shaikh recently escaped her hectic schedule to enjoy a spontaneous beach holiday in Sri Lanka, where she took up surfing for the very first time. The actor, who is currently gearing up for the release of her film Metro… In Dino, shared fun glimpses of her adventurous getaway on Instagram.
“5 din main surfing seekhne ki koshish ki. Aur thoda thoda seekh liya,” she wrote, revealing that she attempted to learn surfing in just five days. The post featured a mix of sun-soaked photos and a video of Fatima successfully riding a wave. Posing proudly with a surfboard, she gave fans a peek into her free-spirited personality and off-screen love for adventure.
Fatima also thanked her instructor in Sri Lanka, writing, “If you ever want to learn surfing in Sri Lanka… Chandu is your guy! He is the best teacher. I have never ever surfed in my life but he got me on the board. He’s your man.” She credited her friend Adithi Sagarr for joining her on the spontaneous trip.

The film explores contemporary relationships and stars a stellar cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher, and Neena Gupta. The film is scheduled to release on July 4.
In addition to Metro… In Dino, Fatima will next be seen in the web series Teen Kawwe, alongside Pavail Gulati and Sidhant Gupta. Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under UTV Motion Pictures, the series is described as a slice-of-life drama packed with humor and emotional depth. The project marks her first collaboration with both actors.
Fatima was last seen in Sam Bahadur, where she portrayed Indira Gandhi in the biopic based on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw’s life.
