5 Passengers Fall Ill, 2 Crew Members Faint Aboard London-Mumbai Air India Flight

The incident took place on board flight AI130 from London Heathrow to Mumbai on Saturday. All passengers are currently safe, and those not well were given medical assistance.

Five passengers and two crew members reported dizziness and nausea midair during a London-Mumbai flight on Sunday, said a spokesperson from the airlines.

The aircraft landed safely in Mumbai, where medical teams were on standby to provide immediate assistance.

“On board flight AI130 from London Heathrow to Mumbai, five passengers and two crew reported feeling dizzy and nauseous during different phases of the flight. The flight landed safely in Mumbai, where our medical teams were ready to provide immediate medical assistance,” said the spokesperson.

“After landing, two passengers and two cabin crew, who continued to feel unwell, were taken to the medical room for further examination and were later discharged. We are investigating the incident and have duly notified the regulator,” the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, an India Express flight, IX2564, scheduled to fly from Delhi to Jammu, returned to Delhi shortly after takeoff due to a technical issue.

An alternate aircraft was later arranged to operate the Delhi–Jammu service, the airline’s spokesperson confirmed.

On the same day, another Air India Express flight from Jaipur to Dubai was cancelled after the pilot noticed a technical glitch in the plane before taking off at the international airport in Jaipur.

An airport official said the plane was scheduled to take off at 6:35 am.
