Karisma Kapoor’s son Kiaan broke down during the last rites of his father, businessman Sunjay Kapur. On Thursday, photos from Sunjay’s funeral in New Delhi were shared on social media by the popular paparazzo handle, Viral Bhayani. In the photos, Karisma was seen consoling her son as he looked visibly sad and emotional. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were also seen in the pictures supporting Karisma and her children at this time of grief.
When Did Sunjay Kapoor Pass Away?
Sunjay Kapur passed away earlier this week in England after suffering a fatal heart attack during a polo match. According to reports, the incident occurred when he accidentally swallowed a bee mid-game, triggering a severe allergic reaction that proved fatal despite immediate medical attention.
Just hours before his untimely demise, Sunjay had expressed condolences on X (formerly Twitter) regarding the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. His last few social media posts included motivational messages, one of which read, “Your time on Earth is limited. Leave the ‘what ifs’ to the philosophers and instead dive headfirst into the ‘why nots’.”
How Is Karisma Kapoor Connected To Sunjay Kapur?
Sunjay Kapur was first married to designer Nandita Mahtani. Their marriage lasted two years before they separated in 2003. The same year, he tied the knot with Karisma. The couple also shared two children, Samaira and Kiaan. However, Karisma and Sunjay parted ways in 2014, and their highly publicised divorce was finalised in 2016. During the divorce process, the duo hurled several allegations against one another. After a legal battle, the actress won custody of her kids while Sunjay was granted rights to visit them.
