248 policemen appointed to the communal violence suppression, head of Sudhir Kumar Reddy


The state government has created a communal violence suppression task force to prevent communal riots in the coastal and highlands of the state. Mangalore city police commissioner Sudhir Kumar Reddy is head of the unit and 248 police personnel have been deployed. The force will operate in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Shimoga districts and the staff will be trained in Karkala.
