Bollywood actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut is known for airing her opinions on social media, without mincing her words. Recently, she re-shared a video which showed young kids being asked to name India’s President. Most of them failed to name President Droupadi Murmu, with one even mistakenly referring to her as ‘Murunali.’ The Bollywood actress expressed her disappointed and slammed the young generation for their lack of awareness.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Kangana Ranaut shared the video which showed the youngsters struggling to name India’s President, Droupadi Murmu. Reacting to it, she wrote, “War won’t kill us but grasshopper brain cell generation surely will.” Kangana’s reference to war was about the recent border tensions between India and Pakistan. She criticized the younger generation for their alarming lack of general knowledge. Check out her Instagram story below!
The video which Kangana Ranaut shared was originally posted in April by an Instagram page called Gen Z Pulse. It begins with an anchor asking a group of girls, “Who is the President of India?” One girl responded, “I forgot his name,” implying she assumes the current President is male. Another one added, “Murunali, I don’t know. Murunu or something.” Another girl incorrectly named Ram Nath Kovind, while a fourth girl replied, “Jawaharlal Nehru, he was the first president,” after pointing out that the host hadn’t specifically asked to name the current President’s name.
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut recently hit the headlines after it was reported that she is all set to make her Hollywood debut. As reported by Variety, the National Award-winning actress will be seen in the horror drama ‘Blessed Be the Evil’. As per the synopsis, the film follows a Christian couple who, after experiencing a devastating miscarriage, purchase an abandoned farm with a dark past. However, their love and faith are soon tested by a malevolent presence.
Produced by Lions Movies, the film will also star Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone, apart from Kangana Ranaut. The film will be directed by Anurag Rudra.
