Meanwhile, in Phalodi, the administration has announced several measures to meet any emergency amid the possibilities of a cross-border strike at a local airbase.
All hospitals have been directed to ensure uninterrupted power, and ensure ample provisions of water, and fuel. Shops and hotels have been ordered to shut by 10 pm.
This comes amid reports that Pakistan launched a barrage of artillery fire, drone, and missile attacks on multiple locations in the country simultaneously. There are also reports of ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC).
In Jammu, around a dozen locations, including the civil airport and an airstrip, were targeted by artillery fire, drone, and missile attacks from the Pakistani side.
According to security agencies, eight missiles were launched from Pakistan, aiming at the Jammu civil airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, Akhnoor, and surrounding areas. All incoming threats were successfully intercepted by the S-400 air defence system.
In Punjab, a blackout was enforced in the Pathankot and Amritsar districts following reports of a loud noise heard near the Pathankot airbase.
Additionally, reports have emerged of artillery shelling in Kupwara and Udhampur, as well as shelling aimed at the airbase in Pathankot. Several nearby areas were also targeted in the attack.
Tensions have spiralled after Indian armed forces early Wednesday carried out missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), including the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold of Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke, in retaliation for the terror attack in Pahalgam.
