Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Karan Johar omitted Priyanka Chopra while praising the Indians at the MET Gala 2025.

Karan Johar and Priyanka Chopra allegedly had a feud in 2012.
Shah Rukh Khan, Kiara Advani, Manish Malhotra and Diljit Dosanjh made their Met Gala debuts this year. While these celebs made India proud on a global scale, Priyanka Chopra and Natasha Poonawalla proved why they are Met regulars with their stunning looks. As Bollywood praised the Indians at the Met this year, Karan Johar took to his Instagram to put Stories for SRK, Kiara, Manish, Diljit and Natasha. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that he omitted Priyanka Chopra. This has left fans wondering if all is not okay between the two celebs.
Karan Johar shared Shah Rukh Khan’s look on Instagram and wrote, “ALLL HAIL the KING of the MET. The internet just broke into a gazillion hearts!!!!! @iamsrk …. bhai you RULE!” For Kiara, he wrote, “Look at this beauty!!!!! So stunning KI!!!!! Mommy glow and fashion to bestow!! @anaitashroffadajania yet again owning it with GG!!! Love you @kiaraaliaadvani So gorg.” Sharing a picture of Diljit’s look, Karan wrote, “Fashion royalty! Always on point.”
While Karan Johar also praised Natasha Poonawalla and Manish Malhotra for their regal looks, Priyanka Chopra was missing from the filmmaker’s praise list. As Karan has previously worked with all four actors before, leaving out Priyanka has raised several eyebrows.
Although Priyanka and Karan did have an alleged falling out in the early 2010s, they have since appeared friendly towards each other. For the unversed, back in 2012, Priyanka Chopra’s friends had told a portal that Karan Johar had been mean to her at a party. The director then took to X and wrote, “Using their hired PR machinery and hiding behind so-called ‘friends’ to get news into tabloids is nothing but spineless and lame.” He added, “Some people need to wake up and smell the KOFFEE!!! Get a reality check before it’s too late!!! Grow up!!! and don’t mess with goodness…”
A few years later, Priyanka moved to Hollywood, putting her Bollywood career on pause. She later told Dax Shepard on his podcast, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game, so I kind of was tired of the politics, and I said I needed a break.”
Although Priyanka did not take any names, many interpreted her comment as a reference to Karan Johar. However, Priyanka and Karan have since seemingly resolved their alleged feud. Priyanka has appeared on Karan’s show several times, and the duo have been spotted being friendly at parties.
