National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday dismissed his ally Congress’ claims that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “missing” after the Pahalgam terror attack and backed the PM over any action he takes against Pakistan.

“Where is he missing? I know he is in Delhi,” Abdullah said.

In a now-deleted post after a massive controversy, the Congress on Tuesday posted an image without naming the Prime Minister and only showed an old photo of his clothes without his body. The BJP lashed out at Congress over the post, alleging that it was a ‘sar tan se juda’ imagery aimed at weakening India at this crucial juncture when the country eyes retaliation of the Pahalgam terror attack.

“jimmedari ke samay — Gayab,” the caption of the Congress’ post read.

Abdullah rejected the ally’s allegation and said that his party has extended full support to the Centre.

“We have given our full support to the prime minister. After that, we should not be questioned. The prime minister should do whatever work he necessary,” the former J&K chief minister said.

Abdullah also responded to Pakistan’s repeated warning of a nuclear war and reminded Islamabad that New Delhi has nuclear weapons too.

“We also have nuclear power, and we had it even before them. India has never attacked anyone first. It all started from there (Pakistan), and we responded. Even today, we will not use it (nuclear weapons) unless they do. But if they use it, we have it too. May God never let such a situation arise,” he said.
