Locals across various states pasted Pakistani flags on the roads in protest against the Pahalgam terror attack.
In multiple videos shared on social media, locals could be seen sticking Pakistani flags on roads, outside shopping complexes and other public places.
As they pasted the flags, commuters could be seen stepping on those and driving their vehicles over it.
Some of these videos came from Karnataka, Odisha, Dehradun, and other states.
The terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 claimed the lives of 26 tourists, out of which 25 were Indians.
Media reports suggested the terrorists first asked tourists their names and faith, and shot those who identified themselves as non-Muslims.
Some reports also suggested the terrorists asked those who said they were Muslims, to recite a Kalma (an Islamic phrase).
Meanwhile, a section of those from the Muslim community protested the pasting of the Pakistani flags on the roads.
In an X post, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari called such people “anti-national”, and urged the police to identify and arrest such people, failing which, he said the police station would be gheraoed.
“Nationalist Greetings and salute to the People of Raghunathpur; Purulia district, who bashed up the Anti National elements who came in support of the rouge nation Pakistan, when Pakistani Flags were pasted on the road to condemn the inhuman Terrorist Attack on Hindu Tourists at Pahalgam; Kashmir,” Adhikari wrote on X.
“They had a problem with the disrespect shown to Pakistani flags. If the Raghunathpur PS don’t identify and arrest these Anti India and Pro Pakistan elements by 12 o’clock tomorrow noon, the Police Station will be gheraoed for supporting the Anti National activity,” he added.

Protests against the Pahalgam terror attack were witnessed not just in India but also in London, where members of the Indian community held a protest outside the Pakistan High Commission and condemned the attack.
Holding Indian flags, banners, and placards, the protesters expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and demanded justice for the victims.
They raised slogans against terrorism and criticised Pakistan for allegedly supporting and sheltering terror groups responsible for such attacks.
