Zaan Khan, who has been actively working in the TV industry for a decade, is all set to enter the OTT space. The Hamari Bahu Silk actor will be seen in an untitled series, which is being shot in a vertical format. In a recent interview, Zaan revealed that he is open to all mediums and chooses projects that offer quality and collaborate with creative minds. The actor also clarified that working in OTT projects doesn’t mean closing the doors for TV.

During an interview with the Times of India, Zaan expressed his concern about TV shows being pulled off-air. He said, “These days, even the biggest TV shows are getting pulled off-air within a month or two. So, it’s smarter to experiment with new mediums. I’ve always been open to trying different things — singles, web shows, and films — and this is just another new space for me. I don’t want to miss out on any opportunity.”

The actor revealed that because of work commitments for daily soaps, he couldn’t take the web shows opportunities he was offered. Zaan said, “Back when the OTT boom began, I received many offers, but I couldn’t take them up because I was tied up with daily soaps. Today, OTT has grown immensely, and the viewership it enjoys is massive. I don’t want to look back and regret missing out.”

Zaan was last seen in the daily soap Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha, which debuted in September but terminated abruptly in mid-April. “I think even the producers and creative teams often don’t know how long a show will run. When a daily soap opera goes off the air, actors are typically the last to know,” he said, reflecting on the unpredictability of television.

The 31-year-old actor shared that this is simply a part of the industry—things come to an end so new opportunities can arise. He explained, “The more visibility you gain, the greater the demand you create.” Zaan emphasised the importance of exploring other platforms while continuing to focus on producing quality work.

He added, “Right now I’m doing this vertical format project, and I’ll give it my all. If a good TV show comes my way, I’ll take that up too. I’m open to all mediums, and I choose projects that offer quality and collaborate with creative minds. For me, it has always been quality over quantity.”
