In the aftermath of the devastating terror attack on tourists in the Baisaran valley of Pahalgam, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has reiterated its stance from 2019, calling once again for a complete ban on Pakistani artistes in the Indian entertainment industry. Actor Amit Sadh, while promoting his upcoming film Pune Highway, shared his views on the renewed directive.

Speaking to ANI, Amit expressed unwavering support for the government’s decisions, stating, “Country comes first. I believe in the government. I believe in the people who are running the country and the decisions they take. Sometimes, there is no right or wrong in life. So I believe in the government and the actions they think they have to take for our nation.”

FWICE had initially issued the ban following the Pulwama attack in 2019. Now, after the Pahalgam tragedy on April 22—where 26 lives were lost—the organisation has renewed its call, emphasizing national solidarity amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

Addressing the media, FWICE General Secretary Ashoke Dubey asserted, “Since this is a matter of national interest, the nation comes first. The continuous attacks, including the recent one in Pahalgam on our tourists, are shameful. We have once again issued a press release stating that if any of our members are found working with Pakistani artists or technicians, we will take strict action against them and cease further collaboration.”

Ashoke further revealed that official letters are being dispatched to all associations affiliated with FWICE. Additionally, the federation has petitioned the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to issue a formal notification mandating that any Indian artist found working with Pakistani nationals should face charges of treason.
