Baalveer, the beloved Indian fantasy superhero series, has made a grand comeback with its fifth season, now streaming on Sony LIV. Dev Joshi reprises his iconic role as Baalveer, marking his much-anticipated return to the screen following his wedding to Aarti earlier in February this year.
In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, Dev shared his thoughts on the show’s new chapter and the response it has garnered so far. According to him, there’s always been a buzz around Baalveer online, but this season promises something fresh for fans.
“Season 5 is completely different from what we’ve done before,” he revealed.
Sharing his wife’s reaction to Baalveer Season 5, Dev said, “She is really happy, as is her family, and everyone in her family has been a fan of Baalveer since 2012. They have watched all of the episodes. It’s wonderful to have her. She has always been supportive. She enjoys my work. As a partner, she is my biggest supporter. She feels happy with Season 5 and is looking forward to the new episodes.”
Furthermore, the actor also revealed that he rejected several film and web show offers during his break from acting, as he believes his character “should be positive.” He said, “Many projects were offered to me. Not only were daily soaps, but also various web series as well as Bollywood and Gujarati films. As an actor, I believe my character should be positive. My character, Baalveer, inspires and motivates others to live a positive lifestyle. So I frequently look for characters like this.”
Notably, Dev was also earlier selected as the youngest crew member to join the DearMoon project. However, the project was later cancelled in 2024 because the SpaceX Starship (the rocket) was not ready.
Speaking about it, the actor said, “It is a. One-of-a-kind project. Because everyone thought about going into space. We’ll think about it more once the starship is ready. The project has since been cancelled indefinitely. It was very heartbreaking. It is a big project, and building such a rocket takes time. I’m confident that when it’s ready, our entire team, and whatever meetings we’ve had, everything will be fruitful.”
