Sanam Johar, renowned for his exceptional dancing skills, is currently playing a grey character in the popular TV serial Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin (GHKKPM). Previously known for his role as a choreographer for Rubina Dilaik on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, Sanam has now embarked on his second innings as a lead actor. His portrayal of Rituraj in GHKKPM has earned him significant praise from fans across social media.
In a recent interview with India Forums, Sanam Johar shared his excitement about an upcoming dance sequence in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. While he is widely recognised for his exceptional dancing skills, viewers had only seen him in his rock star avatar as Rituraj. However, during the recent Gondhal ceremonial segment, fans were treated to his much-anticipated first dancing performance on the show.
Sanam opened up about his emotions for the dance sequence, saying, “I’m very excited that it’s about to come on television—that I’m going to perform in the Gondhal ceremony. And yes, the idea and the emotion behind the dance are a little different from what I expected, but it’s going to be fun. When I danced, our director, sir, our creative head, all of them were so happy with how fast it went.”
Sanam further claimed that he learnt the choreography in 5 minutes, and did the sequence in just one take. “So yeah, they were really happy, they were proud of me. And I just felt, I thought to myself—I’ve danced for more than 20 years, agar main dance bhi accha nahi karunga, toh phir toh laanat hai mujh par (laughs). So I was confident that I’d be able to deliver this dance performance for Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin,” he added.
The GHKKPM actor revealed, “So yeah, I was excited, and that’s why I was confident too. I had a great time shooting the dance piece. We wrapped up my part in just about 45 minutes. So yeah, I was really happy.”
In the recent episode of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, Neil hurt himself during the couple’s dance and had to leave in the middle of the performance. Rituraj took advantage of the circumstance by making fun of Neil and dancing with Teju. But Teju quickly withdrew, leaving Rituraj to complete the dance by himself.
