The Resistance Front (TRF), a group linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba and co-founded by Hafiz Saeed, has taken responsibility for the attack. According to intelligence agencies, the three terrorists involved had been operating in the area for about a month. The TRF came into existence in 2019 as a proxy outfit of LeT in the aftermath of the abrogation of Article 370 and revocation of special status to J&K in August that year.
