Rahul Bhatt compared his step-sister Alia Bhatt to Pooja Bhatt, saying Pooja is more talented and grounded.

Alia Bhatt’s half-brother, Rahul Bhatt, recently shared his thoughts on his family’s dynamics and compared Alia’s talent to that of his sister, Pooja Bhatt. While he acknowledged Alia’s success, he expressed the belief that Pooja, a popular actress in the 1990s, is more talented, in terms of acting, looks, and overall appeal.
Rahul praised Alia for her understanding of PR and her position in the industry but made it clear that, in his view, Pooja remains the most talented and morally grounded of all the siblings. He also spoke about his bond with Alia Bhatt, saying they don’t have that kind of close relationship where he could casually visit her.
Talking to Hindi Rush, Rahul said, “She has got talent. She has the universe with her. She understands PR. She has everything and when you have everything, the universe conspires to make it happen.” He added, “In my opinion, she is not even half of what my real sister Pooja is. Not in talent, not in looks, not in terms of being sexy. In front of my sister, she is ‘paani kam chai (not as good)’. Amongst the siblings, the most talented and the most moralistic is Pooja.”
Speaking about Mahesh Bhatt’s legacy, Rahul Bhatt said that Pooja Bhatt was the one who continued it. He mentioned that Pooja took his father’s legacy ahead. Said Rahul, “Pooja took my father’s legacy ahead. I saw her in her stardom. She was the biggest sex symbol of the country then.”
Opening up on his bond with Alia Bhatt, Rahul said, “I am on good terms with her. I don’t take things for granted. She is a mother now. She is very successful and one can’t just pick up the phone and say I am coming to meet you. I never shared that with anybody. I like to maintain a certain protocol. I am happy for her. She got the right husband. She is a good mother and she is taking care of my other stepsister Shaheen very well, which I respect more.”
Mahesh Bhatt’s first marriage was to Kiran Bhatt, and they had two children: a daughter named Pooja Bhatt, who became an actress and filmmaker, while son Rahul Bhatt, who works in fitness and acting. The couple eventually divorced, but they remained close to their children. Later, Mahesh married actress Soni Razdan, and they have two daughters, Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt.
