Vowing to not spare the terrorists involved in the deadly Pahalgam terrorist attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condemned the attack on the tourists carried out a by a group linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

“I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected. Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice…they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will get even stronger,” PM Modi said in a tweet.

In the wake of the terrorist attack in Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has opted to cut short his official visit to Saudi Arabia. Skipping the scheduled official dinner, the Prime Minister has decided to return to India earlier than planned. Originally set to return tomorrow night, PM Modi will now depart for India tonight and is expected to arrive early Wednesday morning, government sources told News18.

Terrorists from The Resistance Front attacked tourists, killing at least 28 and injured several others, when they were touring the meadows of Bainsram. There were also foreign tourists among those killed.

The attack comes as the Prime Minister embarked on a visit to Saudi Arabia. It also comes amid US Vice President JD Vance’s three-day India trip. He had met Vance earlier on Monday and hosted a dinner for the US Second Family.

The PM was briefed on the situation by Home Minister Amit Shah who vowed to heavily come down on the terrorists involved. According to sources, PM Modi may cut short his visit to Saudi Arabia and return to India earlier than planned.

Union ministers Kiren Rijiju and S Jaishankar also condemned the attack.

“I am deeply pained by the terrorist attack on innocent civilians in Pahalgam, J&K. No words can heal the grief of the families who lost their loved ones. My heart goes out to them. May the injured recover soon. A befitting reply will come soon,” Rijiju said.
