Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko was questioned by Ernakulam North Police after allegedly fleeing a hotel during an anti-drug operation. No narcotics were found, and no case was registered.
Malayalam Actor Shine Tom Chacko Under Police Scanner For Attempting To Flee During Drug Raid
Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko appeared before the Ernakulam North Police in Kochi on Saturday morning for questioning, following an incident where he allegedly fled a hotel during an anti-drug operation earlier this week.
According to police sources, Chacko arrived at the station around 10 am, accompanied by his legal team, after being served a notice on Friday to report for questioning. The interrogation is being led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ernakulam Central, and aims to clarify the events that unfolded during the raid.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday night when law enforcement officials arrived at the hotel for a routine anti-drug search. Upon realising the presence of the police, Chacko allegedly jumped from a third-floor window to the second floor, entered the hotel’s swimming pool area, and then exited the premises via a staircase, effectively evading the team.
When officers knocked on the door of Room 314, Shine Tom Chacko allegedly spotted them and immediately ran out through the hotel window. The checks, specifically aimed at Chacko, were conducted by the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) at a hotel in Ernakulam district. The police are enquiring into the matter.
Police have confirmed that no narcotics were recovered during the operation, and hence no official case has been registered in connection with the raid.
The incident has surfaced amid prior allegations made against Chacko by fellow actor Vincy Aloshious. In a formal complaint to the Film Chamber and the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), Aloshious accused him of inappropriate behaviour on the sets of the upcoming film Soothravakyam, claiming he was under the influence of drugs. However, she has not filed a police complaint to date.
Vincy, in her complaint, identified the actor as Shine Tom Chacko, and said that he made her uncomfortable with his unprofessional and erratic behaviour. “When I had a minor issue with my costume, he offered to ‘fix it’ in front of everyone,” she said. She also alleged witnessing the actor exhale a white, powdery substance during a rehearsal. Addressing online criticism that accused her of seeking attention or attempting to deflect from a lack of work, Vincy responded by saying, “I have the courage to admit I’m waiting for meaningful work. But this is about drawing boundaries at the workplace, not personal gain.”
Chacko’s questioning comes as police continue to investigate both the alleged escape and the broader circumstances surrounding the actor’s conduct. He is known for films such as Ee Adutha Kaalathu, Chapters, Annayum Rasoolum ,Masala Republic, and Jigarthanda DoubleX.
