Shine Tom Chacko Drug Case: Actor Shine Tom Chacko was reportedly seen running from his hotel room in Kochi following a drug raid on Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 11 pm and was allegedly caught on camera. A CCTV footage showed a man, touted to be Chacko, running down the stairs from the hotel’s third floor. The Kochi City Police initiated the raid following revelations by actress Vincy Aloshious.
When officers knocked on the door of Room 314, Shine Tom Chacko allegedly spotted them and immediately ran out through the hotel window. The checks, specifically aimed at Chacko, were conducted by the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) at a hotel in Ernakulam district. The police are enquiring into the matter. Previously, actress Vincy Aloshious had lodged a complaint with the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) against Shine Tom Chacko, alleging inappropriate behaviour while he was allegedly under the influence of drugs. Vincy claimed the incident occurred during the shoot of the film Soothravakyam.
This comes in the wake of a detailed Instagram video shared by Vincy Aloshious, in which she reacted to backlash over her recent comments at an anti-drug campaign. During the event, she had stated that she would no longer collaborate with actors who use narcotics. In the video, Vincy recounted a disturbing incident on a film set, where a male co-star—allegedly under the influence of drugs—acted inappropriately toward her and another actress.
Vincy, in her complaint, identified the actor as Shine Tom Chacko, and said that he made her uncomfortable with his unprofessional and erratic behaviour. “When I had a minor issue with my costume, he offered to ‘fix it’ in front of everyone,” she said. She also alleged witnessing the actor exhale a white, powdery substance during a rehearsal. Addressing online criticism that accused her of seeking attention or attempting to deflect from a lack of work, Vincy responded by saying, “I have the courage to admit I’m waiting for meaningful work. But this is about drawing boundaries at the workplace, not personal gain.”
