Time magazine has revealed its much-awaited list of the 100 most influential people in the world. This year’s list includes individuals from various fields such as politics, entertainment, science and business. However, in an unexpected turn, no Indian artists made it to the list this time. On the other hand, a strong presence from Hollywood and other international figures can be seen, like Ed Sheeran, Scarlett Johansson, Demi Moore, Snoop Dogg, Nikki Glaser and Nicole Scherzinger. On the other hand, three Japanese artists, including Shogun star Hiroyuki Sanada, musician Yoshiki of X Japan and artist Yoshitomo Nara, have also earned a spot in this year’s edition.
Several well-known names from film, music, fashion and art were featured in the Artists category. Ed Sheeran, Scarlett Johansson, Kristen Bell, Adam Scott, and Kristen Wiig were among the top Hollywood personalities named this year. The list also includes Rashida Jones, Diego Luna, Nicole Scherzinger, fashion designer Willy Chavarria, actor Daniel Dae Kim and actress Danielle Deadwyler. Irish singer Hozier and filmmaker Miranda July also made it to the list. Other names include playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, architect Annabelle Selldorf, Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara and Iranian director Mohammad Rasoulof.
On the other hand, the Icons category included names like Demi Moore, Adrien Brody, Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada and musician Yoshiki. Despite facing mixed reactions recently, Blake Lively was listed under the Titans category, where she appeared alongside podcast host Joe Rogan. BLACKPINK’s Rose was the only artist from South Korea to feature in the Pioneers list this year. In the Innovators category, music legend Snoop Dogg and comedian Nikki Glaser were recognised for their ability to connect with the audience.
For this year, rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg, AI expert and DeepMind co-founder Demis Hassabis, tennis legend Serena Williams, singer Ed Sheeran and actress Demi Moore were selected to appear on the magazine’s covers.
The 2025 Time 100 list did not feature any Indian stars, which came as a surprise to many. In 2024, Alia Bhatt was included for her growing global presence, and Deepika Padukone made it earlier in 2018. In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan was honoured in the Icons section.
