Gaurav Khanna Reveals Celebrity MasterChef Wasn’t Easy, Just Like His Acting Journey – News18

Gaurav Khanna, who won the first season of Celebrity MasterChef, has opened up about his journey in the cooking-based show.

Gaurav Khanna emerged as the winner of Celebrity Masterchef’s first season, winning the coveted trophy, the Masterchef Coat and the Rs 20 lakh cash prize. Hosted by Farah Khan, the cooking-based show provided a platform for popular celebrities to showcase their culinary skills. After winning the show, Gaurav is set to make a comeback with ‘Celebrity Masterchef Masterclass’ alongside other celebs and their home cooks. In the show, they will be playing entertainment games while cooking some unique recipes.

In the first episode, Gaurav reviewed his own Celebrity MasterChef journey, drawing parallels with his acting career. Later, Chef Vikas Khanna also joined the conversation and praised his famous ‘Kiss of Kashmir’ recipe. The makers played a recall video of Gaurav’s journey in the show, showcasing how he crossed each hurdle.

The 43-year-old actor opened up about his journey in the show, stating, “My Masterchef journey has been quite similar to my career. Jaise wahan par shuruwat mein takleef hui thi, yahan bhi starting mein thoda alag tha (Just like there was some trouble in the beginning, here too it was a little different in the beginning). It was a new place, and I was not from here. The show was out of my comfort zone,” Gaurav admitted that he has fallen in love with the show and is not able to detach himself.

He began by greeting Nikki Tamboli and past Masterchef contestants, including Prachi from season 8 and Survarna and Priyanka from season 7. Prachi claimed that she and her mother are huge admirers of Gaurav’s character, Anuj Kapadia from Anupamaa and that she has always seen him on television.

Chef Vikas Khanna interrupted Gaurav, who had taken over the Masterclass kitchen, by saying, “Mere pehle bhi bahot khanne aaye aur mere baad bhi bahot khanne aayenge.”

Vikash Khanna also praised Gaurav, saying that the actor has made him very proud. The audience learned two recipes from Chef Vikas and Gaurav: ‘Kiss of Kashmir,’ which is a popular dish from Chef Vikas Khanna’s restaurant and ‘Pista and Rose Ice Cream,’ a special recipe of Gaurav Khanna.
