Bollywood singer Shaan, whose real name is Shantanu Mukherjee, has just made a major property investment in Prabhachiwadi, purchasing a residential property worth Rs 10 crore. The transaction, which was registered in March 2025, was completed along with his wife, Radhika Mukherjee.
The new property includes a luxurious plot and bungalow that stretches across 4,787.92 square yards, with the bungalow itself covering around 5,500 square feet. As part of the deal, a stamp duty of Rs 50 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 30,000 were reportedly incurred, according to reports.
Prabhachiwadi is a locality in the Maval taluka of Pune district, Maharashtra, nestled within the Pune Metropolitan Region. Known for its rural charm, the area features open land parcels and is witnessing a rise in residential developments. According to Square Yards, its strategic location near major transport routes like the Mumbai-Pune Expressway ensures easy connectivity to Pune city and nearby industrial hubs.
Shaan, a renowned Indian playback singer, has been a cornerstone of the music industry for over two decades. Known for his versatile voice, he has sung some of the most memorable tracks in Bollywood, including Tanha Dil, Woh Pehli Baar, Musu Musu Hasi, Tune Mujhe Pehchana Nahin, Kuch To Hua Hai, My Dil Goes Mmmm, Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh and Dus Bahane, among countless others.
Shaan’s career took off in the early 1990s when he started singing jingles for advertising. His big break in Bollywood came when he sang the title track for the movie Tanha Dil in 1999. The song became a massive hit.
While Tanha Dil was his first major success, it wasn’t long before he made a mark as a playback singer. His soulful voice, combined with a natural ability to infuse emotion into every note, made him a favourite of music directors across Bollywood. In 2000, he sang Woh Pehli Baar for the film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, a song that became an anthem for romance.
