Murshidabad Violence: Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh has made a massive accusation in connection with the Murshidabad violence that killed three people, alleging that a central agency and the Border Security Force were part of the “conspiracy”.
Ghosh alleged that the BSF facilitated the entry of miscreants through the border and gave them “safe passage to return” after the violence.
His allegations drew a sharp retort from the BJP, which accused the ruling TMC of giving a clean chit to those involved in arson and violence in the name of protests against the recently enacted Waqf Amendment Act.
TMC’s Big Allegation Against BSF
“There were some bad incidents in Murshidabad. We made appeal to the common people. Don’t respond to any provocation from the BJP because the guardian of West Bengal, CM Mamata Banerjee, is here. You do not worry,” Ghosh said.
The TMC leader claimed that there was a “larger conspiracy” behind the violent incidents that raised tensions in Murshidabad.

“We are receiving some inputs and allegations that there was a larger conspiracy behind those incidents. Some section of Central agency, a section of BSF and a section of two-three other political parties, they were involved in this conspiracy and with the help of a part of BSF, there was a gap in border and some miscreants entered, they made chaos and they were given safe passage to return,” he alleged.
Ghosh claimed that most visuals shared by the BJP from the violence belong to other states and different incidents. He alleged that the saffron party is attempting to “provoke” the people of the state.
BJP Hits Back At TMC
Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Suvendu Adhikari reacted sharply to the remarks and equated the TMC with Bangladesh militant group Ansarullah Bangla Team. Dubbing the TMC an “anti-national and jihadi-controlled party”, he demanded an NIA investigation into the Murshidabad violence.
BJP’s national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla lashed out at Ghosh and Congress leader Digvijaya Singh for their remarks on the violence.
“After Kunal Ghosh who blamed BSF for Bengal Waqf Violence now Digvijaya Singh blames RSS.. implying Hindus are only responsible even though it’s Hindus who are receiving end of Jihadi violence. This is the true face of Congress,” he said.

Citing Calcutta High Court’s observation that it “cannot turn a blind eye” to the situation in Murshidabad, the BJP leader said that Kunal Ghosh and Digvijaya Singh were insulting the central forces.
The police have said that the situation in Murshidabad is returning to normal.
Three people had died in the violent protests against the Waqf Act last week, prompting the Calcutta High Court to order the deployment of central forces in the tense regions.
Over 150 people were arrested in connection with the violence, in which the police officials also sustained injuries.
