Radhikka Madan, who began her acting career with the television show Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi and made her Bollywood debut with Pataakha in 2018, has steadily carved a niche for herself in the film industry. With acclaimed performances in Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, Angrezi Medium and Shiddat, the actress has proven her range and talent. Recently, Radhikka opened up about the person who inspired her the most in her early days as a TV actor trying to transition to films, the late Sushant Singh Rajput.
In a chat with Curly Tales, Radhikka shared how Sushant’s journey from television to Bollywood gave her hope and courage when she was just starting out. “I think Sushant, kyuki uska set mere set ke side mai tha. Aur us time aisa lagta tha ki Sushant chala gaya toh main bhi jaa sakti hoon. I never met him. Naya TV actor actor gaya tha, waha pe Kai Po Che aayi thi, Dhoni bhi nhi aayi thi. Sushant really inspired me at that time,” she recalled.
Sushant Singh Rajput, who rose to fame with Pavitra Rishta, became a symbol of success for many TV actors with his powerful transition to the big screen through films like Kai Po Che, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, and Chhichhore. His untimely demise on June 14, 2020, shocked the entire nation. He was found dead in his Mumbai residence, and while initial investigations pointed to suicide, no note was discovered. The case sparked widespread media attention and speculation.
Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant’s then-girlfriend, was arrested later that year on drug-related charges linked to the actor’s death. She was granted bail after spending 28 days in jail. Recently, Rhea was given a clean chit in the case, and the CBI reportedly found no evidence of abetment.
