With Celebrity MasterChef India in its finale week, the pressure on the celebrity contestants is at an all-time high. In the last episode, the spotlight was on Nikki Tamboli as the former Bigg Boss participant was running high on emotions. It all began after she was assigned crab as the core ingredient of the dish to be prepared as a part of the challenge. The ingredient reminded Nikki of her grandfather’s last wish and she broke down in tears, leaving everyone emotional.
After Nikki Tamboli was asked to use crab as the ingredient in her dish, judge Ranveer Brar asked when she had last cooked it. In an emotional response, the contestant recalled, “We don’t make crab in our household. My nanaji was an army officer. He had sugar. In our house in Aurangabad, we have many pets. He got scratched by one of the pets on his thigh. If you are diabetic, any kind of injury gets septic very quickly. He got a pus there and by not getting treated timely, his thigh had to get amputated. Since he was in the Army we had to inform that he is not going to live longer. My nani asked him his last wish and his last wish was to eat crab. He ate crab and within one hour he was no more. Since then we have never cooked crab.”
Nikki’s heart-breaking confession left everyone standstill, even prompting judge Vikas Khanna to say ‘sorry’. Nikki, on the other hand, went on to add that she had failed when preparing a dish in memory of his brother who passed away a few years back. Scared that she would fail, the former Bigg Boss contestant also shared, “I have failed every time family episodes or family ingredients come. I don’t know why I failed.”
Comforting her, Ranveer Brar advises her to forget what has happened so far and complete the journey, mentioning that there is nothing to lose. The touching conversation in the episode left viewers emotional.
Celebrity MasterChef premiered earlier this year on Sony TV. Ranveer Brar and Vikas Khanna are the judges whereas Farah Khan took on the responsibility to host the show. As the show is inching towards its finale episode, Faisal Shaikh, Tejasswi Prakash, Gaurav Khanna, Nikki Tamboli and Rajiv Adatia compete against each other to claim the trophy.
