Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) will bring a fool-proof excise policy in Delhi which is “transparent” and “sends a good message in society”.
“We will bring a new fool-proof excise policy which is transparent, generates revenue for the government, and sends a good message to society. We will follow the best examples from other states,” said the Delhi CM in an interview with PTI.

This came a day after CM Gupta on Wednesday held a review meeting with senior officials of the Excise Department, and ordered them to take strict action against illegal liquor smuggling.
“No loss of revenue will be allowed. The government is committed to a Transparent and Effective Excise Policy,” the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a post on X.
Delhi Liquor Policy was one of the major issues highlighted ahead of the Delhi Assembly Election by BJP. The polls concluded with the BJP sweeping a massive victory by securing 48 of the 70 seats, while the AAP got only 22.
