Comedian and content creator Purav Jha recently opened up about an unreleased episode of India’s Got Latent, which featured him alongside cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. The episode was never aired due to the controversy surrounding the show, especially after the backlash to the episode featuring Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija. Host Samay Raina eventually deleted all episodes from YouTube.
In a conversation with MensXP, Purav recalled shooting the unreleased episode and revealed his experience meeting Chahal for the first time. “Woh aadmi (Yuzvendra Chahal) launda hai. He is full of fun. I felt like I was sitting with my school friend. He is very down-to-earth and jolly. We were like backbenchers. He is very cool,” Purav shared.
Talking about the unreleased episode, he added, “Hum toh bach gaye the. Humara toh nahi kuch hua tha, but Yuzi bhai ki toh band bajaayi thi Samay bhai ne badhiya. Theek hai, bahut controversy ho gayi hai. I don’t know if I should be happy or sad as my episode has not been released due to controversy. Kyuki audience bolti hai yaar hume dekhna tha aapka wala episode toh fir aisa lagta hai ki aaya nahi… phir uske baad police wale.”
According to Purav, the episode largely revolved around Samay Raina roasting the cricketer. The show and all its episodes were removed by Samay from YouTube on 12 February 2025, after a controversy sparked over derogatory comments made by Ranveer Allahbadia on the show.
Interestingly, the episode was shot before Yuzvendra Chahal’s highly publicised divorce from Dhanashree Verma. Post-separation, Chahal has been linked with RJ Mahvash, although she has denied the dating rumours.
India’s Got Latent featured several well-known names, including Rakhi Sawant, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Raghu Ram. Other episodes have reportedly been shot with Munawar Faruqui, Mallika Sherawat, Farah Khan, Bhuvan Bam, Ahsaas Channa and Vishal Dadlani though it remains unclear whether they will ever see the light of day.
