Happy Birthday to Rupali Ganguly. The Anupamaa actress turns 48 today. Her industry colleagues are flooding social media with birthday wishes.

Alpana Buch, who plays Rupali’s mother-in-law in Anupamaa, shared some fun behind-the-scenes pictures and penned a quirky yet sweet note on Instagram. She compared their bond to Vikram and Betaal – always stuck together, even if they’re at odds on screen. While the two are often seen arguing in the show, Alpana highlighted the real bond they share off-screen, which is full of warmth and laughter – something you don’t usually see in Rajan Shahi’s dramatic daily soap.

Most of the snaps show Rupali and Alpana sharing warm hugs and big smiles. In one LOL snap, Alpana is rocking a fake moustache, while Rupali has a quirky hat on – total goofball energy! The rest of the pictures seem to be clicked during different episodes of Anupamaa.

In her caption, Alpana wrote, “I am Vikram, you are my Betaal, never leave my side. Our hearts are connected and our steps match each other. Happy Birthday Rupali Ganguly, maintain the same crazy for years.”

Apart from Alpana Buch, many others from the Anupamaa team poured in love for Rupali Ganguly on her birthday. Adrija Roy, Nishi Saxena and even former cast member Sagar Parekh dropped sweet messages. Rajan Shahi, the producer of the show, also shared a heartfelt wish on social media.

Though Anupamaa brought Rupali massive fame, she was already a fan-favourite thanks to iconic roles in shows like Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Aapki Antara, and Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi. Despite her solid TV career, Rupali never really ventured into Bollywood.

In a candid 2023 interview with Pinkvilla, she revealed that her film journey didn’t take off due to uncomfortable casting couch experiences.

She said, “There was one time when I didn’t do well in films and that was a choice I made. Because predominantly casting couch existed in the industry at that point of time, it did. Maybe some people didn’t come across it but people like me did come across it and we decided not to make that choice. So you’re considered a failure because you come from a film family. At that time, I did feel small but today I feel very proud. My Anupamaa has given me that stature and position which I always dreamt of and I hoped for her. So Anupamaa is like life-changing for me.”
