Prime Video has amped up the excitement for The Summer I Turned Pretty fans by unveiling the highly anticipated first-look images from the third and final season. The hit coming-of-age drama, based on Jenny Han’s best-selling book trilogy, is set to make a grand return to Cousins Beach this July with an extended 11-episode season. The series will be available for streaming on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The upcoming season is helmed by showrunners Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka, with Han, Kucserka, and Karen Rosenfelt serving as executive producers. The production team also includes Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen under the banner of wiip, with Amazon Studios co-producing the series.
Since its debut in 2022, The Summer I Turned Pretty has become a massive cultural phenomenon, captivating audiences with its heartfelt storytelling and romantic drama. The first season took Prime Video by storm, ranking as the platform’s #1 show during its premiere weekend. The second season, which dropped in the summer of 2023, shattered records, doubling its predecessor’s viewership within just three days of launch.
At its core, The Summer I Turned Pretty is a deeply emotional, multigenerational drama that revolves around a love triangle between a young girl and two brothers. The show beautifully explores themes of first love, heartbreak, and the evolving dynamics between mothers and their children. It also celebrates the enduring strength of female friendships and the magic of one unforgettable summer.
Jenny Han, the creative mastermind behind the series, is a No. 1 New York Times best-selling author, known for To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and The Summer I Turned Pretty books. Her works have been translated into over 30 languages. Beyond literature, Han has successfully transitioned to television, creating two hit series—The Summer I Turned Pretty for Prime Video, where she also serves as co-showrunner, and Netflix’s XO, Kitty, a spinoff of To All the Boys. Additionally, she executive-produced Netflix’s To All the Boys film trilogy, which became a global sensation.
