Sandeep Kapoor, known for his performances in TV shows like Pushpa Impossible and Patiala Babes, has now joined the cast of the popular TV series Jamai No 1. The actor will be seen stepping into the role of Pramod, Riddhi’s (played by Simaran Kaur) estranged father. His addition to the show is expected to bring a lot of drama, stirring emotions and long-buried tension to the show’s future timeline.
Talking about the new character, Pramod, who was separated from his wife years ago, has been kept apart from his daughter and Riddhi holds tremendous hatred towards him. However, Neel (played by Abhishek Malik), eager to restore their bond, sets out to reunite them, revealing a shocking truth: Riddhi’s mother was the actual reason behind their separation.
Sharing his excitement for joining the cast of Jamai No 1, Sandeep stated, “I’m happy to be a part of Jamai No 1 and to play Pramod, a father split apart by distance and longing. This is a deeply emotional part, and I relate with it on a personal level because I also have a daughter in real life,” quoted ETimesTV.
He added, “As a parent, the thought of being separated from your child is painful. The nuances of this character make it both tough and fulfilling to play—he’s more than just a parent looking for forgiveness; he’s a man bearing years of regret, love and hope. The entire team has been welcoming, making this experience even more memorable.”
As the plot progresses in the upcoming episodes, viewers can expect intense arguments, emotional conflicts and surprising revelations, especially between Riddhi and his parents.
Jamai No 1 revolves around Neel’s evolving relationship with the Chotwanis, particularly Riddhi Chotwani, played by Simaran Kaur, and her dominating mother, Kanchan. It premieres on Zee TV every day at 11 pm.
In the recent promo of the show, shared on Instagram, Pramod is seen confronting Neel that he didn’t try to kill Kanchan, his ex-wife and it was her gameplan. Sharing the promo, Sandeep wrote, “Promod nain samjhai neel ko kanchan ki chaal. Jamai no 1. Kya neel samajh payega.”
Talking about Sandeep, he has also appeared in several big films like Sukhee, Thank God and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga, as well as web series like Johri and Zidd Jeet Ki.
