The finale of Season 1 of Celebrity MasterChef is approaching soon, and the competition between contestants has scaled up as the show reaches its last few weeks. Two of the best celebrity chefs, Gaurav Khanna and Tejaswwi Prakash are in the lead for the finale. In a recent episode, Nikki Tamboli was engaged in a verbal spat with Gaurav Khanna, calling him ‘insecure’.
On the March 21 episode of the show, the contestants were given the task to prepare Delhi chaat within 20 minutes, with an advantage for the winner. Gaurav Khanna and Archana Gautam presented the best dishes, gathering praise from judges Farah Khan, Kunal Kapur and Ranveer Brar.
As an advantage, both Archana and Gaurav were allowed to choose time slots for the next task for themselves and other contestants. Both celebrities reserved the 120-minute slot each, while they allocated 100 minutes to Tejaswwi Prakash and Usha Nadkarni. On the other hand, Nikki Tamboli and Rajiv Adatia were given 90 minutes each to prepare their dish.
What led to a spat between Gaurav Khanna and Nikki Tamboli?
To start with, Nikki Tamboli has never shared a good bond with Gaurav Khanna on the show. The duo has been often involved in disagreements, especially when they were teamed up for a task before. This time again, Nikki was seemingly upset for being allocated 90 minutes only for the cooking task. As his reason, Gaurav mentioned that this was because Nikki already had an immunity pin, and he found her as a good competition.
In response to Gaurav’s answer, Nikki said, “It’s not about immunity pin. It’s high time Gaurav should accept that he’s an insecure boy, not even a man.”
While Gaurav tried to avoid further confrontation, Rajeev Adatia requested Nikki to not give adjectives like ‘insecure’. However, Gaurav said that Nikki is free to speak her opinion, as this reflects her mentality.
Run to the finale of Celebrity MasterChef
As the show nears its end, the contestants have geared up to book their seats into the finale. While Faisal Sheikh has earned himself a white apron, all other contestants are currently in black aprons. They need to up their game in order to redeem their white apron.
The show premiers on SonyLIV from Monday to Friday at 8 pm. The contestants bid on dishes in the latest episode to prepare food in their allocated time slots.
