In a tale of a twisted love triangle, a woman and her new lover allegedly shot her boyfriend dead on the night of Holi after asking him to meet up with her. She had promised to marry him, but he was unaware of her other relationship.

The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi on March 14 and the whole murder was captured on CCTV cameras. While News18 does not have access to the footage, the police said they have arrested the prime suspects for the murder of Diljeet, and another woman involved in the murder.

According to a report published by NDTV, the police said the woman and her new boyfriend planned the murder a month before Holi. On the night of the festival, they called Diljeet outside a house and shot him in the chest.

Police said the accused was captured on CCTV cameras chasing the victim on motorcycle, his face covered with a black helmet. The victim is seen on another two-wheeler while being chased at gunpoint. He was later shot in the chest, they said.

They further said later the accused can be spotted parked behind a tempo with a bag and later fled the spot around midnight. Both the accused were on the run for several days, leading to an uproar, they added.

Special teams were formed, who identified the accused using the CCTV footage, police said. Another woman involved in the murder was also arrested once Diljeet’s girlfriend was questioned. The weapon used by the accused is yet to be recovered, they added.
