Keerthy Suresh bags another film?

Keerthy Suresh made her Bollywood debut with Baby John co-starring Varun Dhawan. The film received a mixed response from the audience. And now a report is coming in that she is all set to star in a romantic comedy film. While an official confirmation is awaited, sources suggest that the actress has been approached for an untitled rom-com project.

Filmfare has quoted sources saying that the makers are keen on working with Suresh for her charm and versatility on screen. If the talks pan out well, she will star in a “refreshing new avatar.” The actress will be seen in a character that is fun, breezy and entertaining. The makers are currently keeping the title, plot and names of the cast members under wraps.

Keerthy also has two exciting Tamil projects in the pipeline— Revolver Rita and Kannivedi. Meanwhile, Revathy has stepped into the director’s chair with her short film Thank U.

Talking about Baby John, it follows the story of Inspector Satya Verma (Varun Dhawan), known by his alias Baby John. Satya leads a peaceful life in Kerala with his daughter Khushi (Zara Zyanna) and his old friend Ram Sevak (Rajpal Yadav). However, his serene life takes a turn when Khushi’s teacher, played by Wamiqa Gabbi, uncovers his hidden identity as a fierce and relentless inspector.

The narrative takes audiences six years into the past, delving into Baby John’s life when he was married and fighting against Babar Sher (Jackie Shroff), a powerful figure exploiting young women. The story unfolds as Baby John seeks justice for his wife Meera (Keerthy Suresh) and embarks on a journey to combat exploitation and corruption.

The film received majorly negative reviews from all and failed to impress the audience. It earned hardly Rs 40 crore at the box office.

News18 Showsha’s review of Baby John read, “The film falters in its writing and direction. The plot feels stretched, with a sluggish first half that echoes Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore. Although the second half gains momentum, it remains predictable, lacking suspense or originality.”

“While Baby John boasts commendable performances, it falls short of being a compelling thriller due to its lackluster plot and uneven pacing,” it added.
