Bobby Deol has seen both highs and lows in his decades-long career. In a recent interview, the Animal actor opened up about the struggles he faced during a difficult phase, sharing that he personally sought work by reaching out to people in the industry.
“When I was going through a bad phase, I knocked on doors and told them, ‘I am Bobby Deol. Please give me work.’ There is nothing wrong with that. At least they will remember that Bobby Deol came to meet me,” he told India Today.
Bobby said that he never felt ashamed of asking for work because, as an actor, it was necessary to take such steps to stay relevant. He believes that making an effort to remind people of his presence in the industry was crucial in overcoming setbacks.
Reflecting on how Bollywood has evolved, Bobby noted that earlier in his career, opportunities often came without much struggle. However, with the growing number of actors in the industry, competition has intensified, making it harder to secure roles. “There was a time when people would offer me work, but now the industry is different,” he shared.
Despite facing challenges, Bobby has made an impressive comeback in recent years. His role as the antagonist in Animal (2023) received critical acclaim and was embraced by audiences, proving his versatility as an actor.
His resurgence isn’t limited to Bollywood. Bobby has also ventured into South Indian cinema, appearing in upcoming films like Kanguva and Daaku Maharaaj. Additionally, he continues to make waves in the digital space. His performance as Baba Nirala in Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2, directed by Prakash Jha, has been well-received, further cementing his return to the spotlight.
