The now-viral video shows female staff dragging a senior nursing officer from his cabin over alleged misconduct, while other female staffers forcibly push him out.

A video of female staff dragging a senior nursing officer from his cabin at a state-run cancer institute and demanding that he confess to alleged misconduct has surfaced online. The officer, however, repeatedly denied the accusations. The undated clip, which has been widely shared on social media, has been drawing strong reactions from people.

“Female employees of the State Cancer Institute in Jaipur thrashed Senior Nursing Officer Mahesh Gupta thoroughly. The women allege that the nursing officer would ask female employees to meet him sometimes at a hotel and sometimes at a flat,” reads the caption to the video, when translated from Hindi to English.

What does the video show?

The video opens to show a female security personnel dragging Gupta by his collar out of his cabin while other staff members push him. As the video progresses, one woman can be heard saying, “Har kisi se badtameezi karte ho [You misbehave with everyone].”

Gupta, visibly distressed, pleads, “Choro mujhe yaar [Leave me].”

Despite his resistance, the female staffers forcibly push him out of the cabin. One woman suggests, “Auto kar, thane le chal [Book an auto and take him to the police station].”

Another woman claims that Gupta has crossed all limits, alleging that he has been making inappropriate advances toward multiple female employees.

Towards the end of the video, the female security personnel asks others to record him and expose his alleged indecent proposals to women.

The female staff says, “…agar iski bhook koi nahi mitata hai, to ye kehta hai room par chalo nahi to naukri se hata dega [If no one satisfies his hunger, he says, ‘Come to the room, or else I’ll fire you from the job.’]”

The female security personnel then slaps him, prompting Gupta to protest, saying, “Don’t raise your hand on me,” and swearing on his children that he has done nothing wrong.

While responding to the incident, one individual said, “There should be CCTV with Audio in every office. It should always be functional. Everything needs to be recorded.”

“Police should take action,” another added.

A third commented, “is this the way to complain? why did she not go directly to the police instead of displaying strength and dragging him?”
